Very extensive interview and assessment process for graduates, understandable considering the large degree of people applying.

Very slow. Long times to wait to hear from anyone
Graduate, Perth
Wasn't that hard, pretty straight forward questions
Graduate, Perth
Assessments were tough to get through and there were a lot. But that's to be expected as its so competitive

It was two round interview and very great, welcoming by interviewer.
Graduate, Olympic Dam- Roxby Downs
Interview was good, but it took sooo long to get response after the interview. And the onboarding process is not efficient.
Graduate, Queensland
My interviews were conducted online, as this was in 2021 and we were all still enduring through the covid pandemic. They were still interesting and respectful though, and I was very happy with the way they went.
Graduate, Perth, Western Australia
Virtual interview and games
Graduate, Moranbah
Very relaxed and simple interview process. I was offered a 2nd chance option to join, so less assessments.
Graduate, Adelaide
Started as an intern going through online interviews, psychometric testing, and an assessment centre with interviews. If you perform well as an intern it is really easy to get a graduate job. Was pretty much guaranteed after the internship.
Graduate, Moranbah
I gave it a 7 due to the length of time waiting from the first interview to the job offer. I wasn't sure after 4 months so i resigned myself to not being accepted by BHP recruitment.
Graduate, Jimblebar Hub
Starts with submitting a resume and cover letter followed by psychometric testing. If you pass the tests, you get invited to video recorded interviews. These are fine because they give you multiple chances to record your answer. Final stage is virtual interview with a manager or superintendent.
Graduate, Moranbah
Initially going for an undergrad position, it was very casual. Got the opportunity to meet with two heads of AMOP in Brisbane for an interview. Then was given a choice between design or projects and I chose project. The Grad interview process had a lot more assessments required to be completed.
Graduate, Brisbane
Interview process was very thorough. Online assessments, in person assessments and interviews were utilized for selection.
Graduate, Adelaide
Large group interview - very little opportunity for feedback.
Midlevel, Perth
Application was due a year before job starting date, 1st time I applied i got rejected and found out it was because I forgot to tick a box to say I was eligible to work in Australia. Had online video assessment which is awkward, then spoke to potential line leader. Heard nothing for a few months, then randomly had to decide if I wanted to live residential or fifo within 48 hours of receiving my offer out of the blue with no additional information.
Graduate, Olympic Dam
Fairly standard. Online application, followed by an online interview.
Midlevel, Newman
