The role

Cardno is looking to recruit a Graduate Geotechnical / Environmental Engineer to join our West Perth team in January 2022.

Our office is in walking distance to Kings Park and Elizabeth Quay, as well as being only a short bus ride to our Central Business District. Cardno has also embraced 'Work Your Way', which enables flexible working tailored to your individual circumstance through an environment of empowerment and trust.

Ideally we are seeking graduates that are due to complete their studies by the end of 2021 and can be available for full time, permanent work in January 2022. As a graduate on our established 2 year Asia Pacific Graduate Development Program, you will learn all facets of engineering techniques, relevant software programs, and gain essential business skills to ensure your success in a global consulting environment.

You will be Making a Difference by –

  • Participating in the delivery of geotechnical and environmental projects, ensuring work output is of a technically high standard
  • Gaining experience in geotechnical analysis, modelling and design in areas such as slope stability, pavements, landfills, dams, foundations, retaining walls and other structures
  • Gaining experience in environmental projects including contaminated land investigations and remediation
  • Developing practical and commercial solutions to problems
  • Undertaking work related training and self development for career advancement
  • Collaborating with project staff and working within a team of technical specialists
  • Coordinating, preparing and submitting proposals

About you

To be successful you will display –

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering (Geotechnical specialisation preferred) with completion by 2021
  • A passion for geotechnical and environmental engineering
  • Proven ability to learn and apply new concepts
  • The ability to work and collaborate within a team environment through well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills to be able to present and articulate ideas to a wide variety of stakeholders
  • A positive, initiative driven and proactive attitude
