Are you ready to help create the next chapter of our story?

Clyde & Co is running a national Summer Clerkship Program for 2021/2022 and invite you to submit your application.

The program is aimed at penultimate year law students, and is designed to give you your first taste of working life in an international law firm. Our 8 week summer clerkship program will commence on Monday, 22 November 2021 (there will be a short break over the Christmas period) and will include gaining experience in one or more of our core sector practice groups.

The Summer Clerkship Program is our primary method for graduate recruitment and many of our summer clerks go on to start their legal career with us.

If you're looking for the perfect environment to learn, develop and progress, we think you'll love life here. We're a growing firm (one of the fastest growing in the world, in fact). And we work at the heart of sectors that drive global trade and commerce. It makes this an unrivalled opportunity to take on exciting, high profile work and to grow as rapidly as us.

      About the clerkship

As a Clyde & Co Summer Clerk you will do more than just shadow our lawyers. You will gain practical experience as you work alongside our Partners and experienced lawyers on interesting matters, you will attend and contribute to client meetings building your business development skills, and have the opportunity to expand and grow your networks. We take a very hands-on approach to our program to give you exposure to our niche practice areas in order that you will gain valuable insight into how we operate.

Once you start as a Clyde & Co Summer Clerk you will be paired with a buddy and mentor who will help you settle in and provide guidance and support throughout your placement. You will also attend training and information sessions to expand and develop your knowledge and skills. There will also be a variety of social events to attend throughout the program, allowing you to network with not only the other clerks but with colleagues from across the firm.

      About our lawyers

While we operate at the very highest level of our profession and are respected around the world for our expertise, we have also created a friendly, open and dynamic environment in which our lawyers enjoy working. We have a strong team ethos and value the individual contributions our employees make to the firm. We want our people to fulfil their ambitions: they are the future of the firm.

At Clyde & Co, we recognise and reward our talented employees and their career aspirations, are committed to internal promotion and provide a structured approach to career development. As an employee of Clyde & Co, you will work in an open and inclusive environment where we look to improve our employees' overall experience, in and out of the workplace.

We work with high profile clients on prestigious projects that directly impact the world we live in. At the same time, we have the kind of down-to-earth culture that means people here quickly feel at home - whatever their level. Join us as a student or graduate, and you can look forward to exceptional training and real responsibility in an environment that's as supportive as it is inspiring.
