The Team

The Global Technical Sales team is responsible for providing technology and thought leadership to customers. This team support strategic sales engagements, drives technology adoption, and supports the global digital platform strategy of Equinix. Interns will be offered the opportunity to shadow GTS leadership and practitioners in their daily role in key initiatives, strategic sales engagements, development of offers, repeatable solutions, and use cases as well as be given guided responsibility for the completion of a specific business-required project.

Responsibilities

Technical Consulting and Sales Support

  • Identifies customer’s business needs, challenges, and technical requirements and maps to Equinix solutions
  • Utilizes understanding of Equinix products and services to deliver pitch on Equinix solutions
  • Analyzes situations and data on problems of moderate scope
  • Provides full support for small to mid-size customer meetings and tours

Solution Design and Deliverables

  • Supports RFI/P/Q preparation as requested by Sales Representatives

Customer Service

  • Communicates with customers (internal and external) in a professional, friendly and effective manner, both verbally and in writing
  • Supports pre-sales efforts for all company products and services
  • Provides good technical support in sales presentations, customer meetings and trade shows

Business and Market Expertise

  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of Equinix data centre, Network, and Cloud products and services
  • Possesses basic industry knowledge and familiarity with the competitive landscape

Collaboration / Communication

  • Collaborates with internal teams (CSM, OM, IM, Ops, etc.) to ensure smooth project transition from pre-sales to post-sales
  • Active participant in cultivating a positive culture on the team
  • Demonstrates basic presentation skills

About you

Who You Are (Requirements and Qualifications)

  • Bachelor of Engineering/IT/Information Systems welcome to apply
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university/college, in your penultimate year of your bachelor’s or master’s degree studies (Graduation between December 2024 - September 2025) 
  • Available to work full-time for the entire duration of the Summer Internship Program (start between May to September, depending on your school system)
  • Advantage if you have proficiency in Cloud Computing, Information Technology, MSFT/AWS/Google certifications, Information Security - knowledge of networks, routing, applications, development languages, and strong presentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, business proficiency in English  
  • Ability to create accurate and punctual reports, deliver presentations, and share information and ideas with others  
  • Analytically driven and detail-oriented, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Package and aptitude to learn new software
