I have experienced huge variety in my role and so far have gained experience in from attending Court, drafting a wide range of documents, legal research and administrative tasks.

- Preparing advices to client's; involves summarising newly received evidence and accordingly advising the client - Attending PIC, Court etc. with solicitors/partners for learning purposes

At the moment i am in my first rotation into Property & Projects section. I do not enjoy transactional law as much as litigation so it has been quite challenging, but still a worthwhile experience and at least now i know for sure that insurance litigation is where i want to be!

I run a series of my own motor vehicle file matters, while also assisting on other insurance matters on a fairly ad hoc basis. I also run some more of my own "serious" property matters, all done under the supervision of a senior associate or supervising partner.

Research tasks, attending court hearings, administrative tasks

I am a graduate lawyer so I am not yet qualified to give legal advice on my own, however i assist my team in providing this advice and in completing the related tasks required for this.

I'm in a transactional and advisory practice. My work has gotten more complex over time. Initially I was doing proofreading, comparing and summarising transactional documents, and other paralegal type tasks. Now I do the first draft of advices, agreements (including drafting of bespoke clauses) and occasionally some urgent research, but still get the smaller paralegal type tasks here and there which are good for balancing out your day. I am also working on a big innovation/ tech project with the support staff and partner of my team.

Presently I am on rotation in Insurance WA. My role has been diverse with a range of tasks. While I have had to undertake my share of less-enjoyable tasks, I have also had the opportunity to complete many tasks which I believe more senior lawyers would normally complete and for this reason I have found the work to be empowering and interesting. I believe the responsibility I carry as a Law Graduate is appropriate.

At the moment I spend a lot of my day drafting letters and advices to clients. I also will collate court material and go through client files for the solicitors

The work varies significantly, which is good. Tasks can range from contract reviews, to writing court documents for disputes, taking filenotes in meetings, contacting stakeholders and government departments for information, writing client reports or doing broad research on a point of law for a specific matter. Grads also have opportunities to assist with pro bono matters, through the Homeless Law clinic, which allows you some more autonomy in terms of managing a file.

Drafting updated advices, emailing clients.

In litigation no day ever looks the same which keeps the job interesting. The work is very diverse and during my grad rotation I have worked on financial services, insolvency, tax, property and IP disputes. I have participated in meetings and attended Court hearings and conferences with counsel. The team is great and very supporting!

I have been able to get stuck into lots of practical work, assisting in drafting advices, affidavits, and other court forms. I have been able to observe court and tribunal hearings and attend client meetings with large corporate entities.

I do research and draft documents.

My first rotation is through the General Insurance (GI) team. My day-to-day varies from filing proceedings, advising clients and strategising 'next-steps' to attending conferences to try resolve matters.
