How flexible is your company when it comes to hours?
I work very long hours (12-13) hour days plus most weekends. My company is flexible with my study, ie - doing an PLT oral in my office.

I work approximately the same hours each week. My firm is quite flexible if you have something you would like to work around and they do allow employees to work at home on occasion.

My work hours are 8:30-5. At this stage I am managing my work enough to get here just before 8:30 and leave just after 5. When I know I have extra work to do I will arrive early or stay back late. w/r/g understands that you are a person as well as a professional, and as long as work is getting done, they are understandable when hours need to be adjusted for things such as travel or appointments.

For the time being I am only working 8:30-5, and find that I only stay later if I am in a meeting with a client and/or my supervisor. There is no pressure to stay late, with the emphasis being on completing work during the regular work day. I am sure as my experience and task increase so to will my workload, but for the moment I can maintain a work/life balance and it has helped not being overwhelmed by entering the full time workforce.
